How do you keep student data secure?
Keeping student data secure was one of our top priorities while designing the system. We achieve security by never storing student names within our system. Once you have added all of your students to the system, we generate a backup file that you must download and keep safe. Whenever you log back into the system all data will be anonymised until you upload that file from your system.
Beyond this, any data that we do store is stored in a HIPAA compliant database, with AES encryption at rest and in transit.
How do custom reports work?
Report writer works from data that you provide to it. Some data can be taken straight from your school systems, e.g. Subject, Curriculum, Expected Grades. Other more subjective data you can choose to include e.g. Is the student on track for their grade?, How do they excel?, Where could they improve?, Overall Tone of the report.
When you define a report, you are defining which of these fields you would like to include. More fields will lead to more detailed reports but will take longer for you to provide the subject.
Can I generate reports for different subjects?
Yes, you can create as many report templates as you like and we would recommend generating a report per student / subject. The system can become confused when attempting to generate a report for more than one subject at once.
How do I extract data from the system?
All your generated reports can be downloaded as a CSV or PDF. Alternatively, you can simply copy the text from the website straight into your school system.
We are in the process of examining possible integrations with SIMS style systems to load reports straight into school systems.
